This contract opportunity is ideal for registered nurses with experience in rehabilitation and long-term care seeking a hands-on role in a therapeutic environment. The position offers the chance to provide compassionate, skilled nursing care to diverse patient populations in specialized units tailored to unique needs, including Alzheimer’s/dementia care and short-term rehabilitation. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver direct and indirect nursing care to residents and patients across specialized units • Collaborate effectively with team members to create a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment • Utilize both verbal and non-verbal communication strategies for patients with Alzheimer’s and dementia • Perform nursing tasks including IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management • Adapt flexibly to rotating shifts and float between units as needed Qualifications / Desired Experience: • Associate’s degree in Nursing required • Valid Maine or compact RN license required • 1-3 years' relevant RN experience preferred • Familiarity with medical terminology highly advantageous • Excellent teamwork and communication skills essential • Ability to work flexible shifts covering 24/7 care • Capacity to handle specialized care requirements in rehabilitation and long-term care settings Additional Information: • Up to 16 hours of unpaid orientation included • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility • Prior employees and candidates with licensure conflicts will not be considered • Local travelers compensated at a lower rate • The healthcare team values diversity and inclusion, welcoming all qualified applicants This role is a contract assignment providing a unique opportunity to engage deeply with patients requiring specialized nursing care while developing your skills in a supportive setting.
