Job Description
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Active RN license with solid medical-surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience
• Proficient in advanced clinical skills including NG-tube management and central line care
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Familiarity with electronic health records, preferably Epic system
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Adaptable to floating within like units providing med/surg level care as needed
• Commitment to maintaining excellent patient experience and adherence to unit standards
• Professional presentation in navy blue scrubs as per dress code requirements
Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a 17-bed surgical care unit focused on post-surgical and general surgery patients
• Monitor and manage patients with complex post-operative needs and advanced technological support
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including unit secretaries and patient care technicians
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation utilizing the Epic electronic system
• Adhere to unit policies and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Work a schedule including four weekend shifts respecting staffing patterns and patient care demands
