Job Description
A healthcare opportunity is available in Nashville, TN, offering a dynamic contract nursing role focused on medical-surgical and orthopedic/spine patient care. This position caters to nurses who excel in fast-paced environments and have a minimum of one year of medical-surgical nursing experience.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Active RN license with at least 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred but optional
• Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, prioritization, and time management
• Ability to quickly adapt and learn in a busy clinical setting
• Professional demeanor characterized by punctuality, organization, teamwork, and effective communication

Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive care for a diverse medical-surgical patient population, including orthopedic and spine patients, stable trauma cases, and psych medical holds
• Perform a wide range of nursing procedures such as post-catheterization care without intervention, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and support for peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
• Collaborate effectively within RN/LPN teams along with patient care technicians
• Utilize clinical equipment such as Alaris pumps, telemetry, wound vacs, chest tubes, and specialty beds
• Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech electronic health records
• Participate in unit floating as needed and comply with scheduling policies including at least one weekend shift every four weeks
