Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical Address: New Britain, Connecticut Assignment Type: Contract | Duration: 13 Weeks with possible extensions Start Date: ASAP Shift: 12-Hour Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM Hours: 36 hours/week Job Summary Facility is seeking experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurses (RNs) for an urgent, crisis-rate assignment. Nurses will float as needed, primarily supporting two respiratory units. This role requires strong clinical judgment, comfort working with ventilated patients, and the ability to recognize cardiac alerts and alarms. Key Responsibilities • Provide comprehensive nursing care to Medical Surgical patients • Float between units as assigned, primarily respiratory units • Monitor and assess patients with respiratory needs, including ventilated patients • Identify and respond appropriately to alerts and alarms for cardiac patients • Collaborate with Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) and interdisciplinary teams • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies • Deliver safe, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment Requirements • Active RN license (State of Connecticut or compact) • BLS and ACLS certification (required) • Must have ventilator experience • Ability to identify cardiac alerts and alarms • Experience with patients who have a cardiac history (patients are not on active telemetry) • Flexibility to float between units as needed Scheduling & Policy Notes • Every other weekend required • No special scheduling requests or blocked scheduling allowed • Limited RTO: Maximum of 7 days Job Types: Travel nursing, Contract Pay: $64.00 - $70.00 per hour Expected hours: 36 per week Benefits: • Referral program Experience: • Medical-surgical: 2 years (Required) • Ventilator: 1 year (Required) License/Certification: • RN state License (Required) • BLS Certification (Required) • ACLS Certification (Required) Shift availability: • Night Shift (Required) Work Location: In person
