A skilled Registered Nurse with Med/Surg expertise is sought for a contract opportunity in Big Lake, AK. This role centers on delivering high-quality care in a surgical care setting, with a strong emphasis on managing post-surgical and general surgery patients. Candidates will support a busy unit equipped with modern technology and a well-organized team environment.
Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to post-surgical and general surgery patients.
• Perform advanced procedures including NG-tube and central line care.
• Utilize Epic documentation system to maintain accurate patient records.
• Adhere to a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio ensuring personalized patient attention.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and float to like units as needed.
• Maintain compliance with unit policies, protocols, and BLS certification requirements.
• Work a schedule that includes 4 weekend shifts, supporting patient care continuity.
Qualifications:
• Active RN licensure with Med/Surg experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Proficient in care of patients with NG-tubes and central lines.
• Comfortable with electronic health record systems, preferably Epic.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Flexible to float to similar units with a med/surg level of care.
