
Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) | Carmel, Indiana in Carmel, IN
Job Description
Provide compassionate care in a dynamic MedSurg and Orthopedics unit within a well-established healthcare setting in Carmel, IN. This contract role offers a 12-hour day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a 36-hour guaranteed workweek and weekend rotations. You will work with a dedicated team to support patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries such as joint replacements, as well as those managing complex medical conditions like respiratory and diabetic care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality nursing care to MedSurg and post-op orthopedic patients.
• Manage time effectively to handle a 1:5 patient ratio.
• Provide critical thinking and clinical judgment in patient assessments and interventions.
• Collaborate and float between the primary unit and a nearby sister campus as needed.
• Utilize Epic EMR system for accurate documentation.
• Adhere to navy blue scrub dress code and facility policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years nursing experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong time management and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to function as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable with patient types including respiratory, diabetic, and post-orthopedic surgery populations.
