
Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Chimayo, New Mexico in Chimayo, NM
Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Providing compassionate and efficient patient care during night shifts, this role is essential to the smooth operation of patient services. The position involves coordinating and implementing nursing care tailored to the needs of patients within the assigned unit. Registered Nurses in this capacity must practice with professionalism and adhere to the standards of care while maintaining respect and consideration for patients, families, physicians, and staff.

Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and deliver patient care specific to the assigned units population
• Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies and nursing standards
• Manage physical demands including patient positioning and emergency response readiness
Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
• Current New Mexico RN license or valid Compact state license
• BLS Certification mandatory at time of hire and maintained continuously
• Knowledge and skills relevant to the specific patient population served
• Clear and empathetic communication skills appropriate to patients developmental levels
Schedule:
• Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Flexibility required to accommodate unexpected schedule changes and emergencies
Physical Requirements:
• Capacity to handle emergency situations, prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and positioning patients and equipment
• Adequate hearing, vision, and manual dexterity
