Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Columbia, Missouri in Columbia, MO

Key Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive nursing care on a Medical-Surgical unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 • Float to various MS units as needed, demonstrating flexibility and collaboration skills • Manage patients with stroke, applying specialized knowledge and experience • Adhere to safety protocols including BLS certification requirements; NIH and ACLS certifications are preferred • Communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams • Maintain physical stamina to ambulate, reach, and safely handle patient care equipment and materials weighing over 20 lbs • Work rotating night shifts (3x12 hours: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), including holidays, weekends, and possibly during inclement weather Qualifications and Experience: • Registered Nurse with a minimum of one year of clinical experience • Previous stroke care experience is required • BLS certification mandatory; NIH and ACLS certifications strongly preferred • Willingness to float across multiple medical-surgical units • First-time travelers are welcome and encouraged to apply Location Overview: Columbia, Missouri offers a vibrant community known for its quality of life, cultural activities, and welcoming atmosphere.
