Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Edison, New Jersey in Clyde, NJ

A registered nurse position is available for a contract opportunity in Edison, NJ. This role requires proficient nursing skills and a strong commitment to patient-centered care within a perioperative setting. Candidates will be expected to utilize assessment and clinical skills to provide comprehensive care to surgical patients, from pediatric through geriatric populations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform thorough and systematic patient assessments across all age groups, ensuring appropriate nursing interventions.
• Deliver competent direct patient care, demonstrating knowledge of emergency procedures and clinical practices.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation according to nursing process and patient progress.
• Uphold professionalism by adhering to policies, procedures, and identifying areas for growth.
• Foster positive interactions with patients, families, and team members, maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol adherence and proper patient identification.
• Apply knowledge of surgical procedures, types of anesthesia, and individualized patient care plans.
• Take accountability for directing perioperative patient care and prioritize patient needs effectively.
• Conduct preoperative and postoperative patient education and assessments.
• Support timely completion of Pre Admission Testing (PAT), evaluating orders for accuracy and completeness.
