
Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Fishers, Indiana in Carmel, IN
Job Description
This opportunity offers a nursing role focused on providing and coordinating home nursing care in accordance with physicians' orders and agency policies. The position requires careful assessment and evaluation of patients' medical conditions, direct supervision of Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses, and adherence to state-specific nursing standards and regulations. The role reports directly to the Clinical Manager and involves both home visits and periodic office meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide professional nursing care using the nursing process to manage patient health at home.
• Conduct patient assessments, initiate and revise plans of care as needed, and communicate any significant changes to physicians promptly.
• Supervise, evaluate, and assign duties to Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses according to state guidelines.
• Document all communications and patient interactions accurately in medical records.
• Comply with state and federal home care regulations and professional nursing standards.
• Maintain coordination of patient services through multidisciplinary communication.
• Participate in staff training and in-service programs as needed.
Qualifications:
• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license valid in the assigned state; Nurse Licensure Compact eligibility preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to assess and address patients age-specific healthcare needs.
• Proficient with basic computer skills including navigating desktop applications and online training platforms.
• Reliable transportation, current driver's license, and agency-required liability insurance.
