
Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Gadsden, Alabama in Attalla, AL
Job Description
Seeking experienced MedSurg Registered Nurse for night shifts on a contract basis in Gadsden, AL. This role offers the opportunity to provide quality care to adult and geriatric patients in a Level II Trauma setting with a varied patient population. Ideal candidates will have prior float and possible charge nurse experience and be comfortable working every other weekend. Flexible schedule options including 4x12-hour shifts are available.
Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to adults and geriatric patients on a MedSurg unit
• Perform IV starts, wound care including wound vac management, and implement isolation precautions
• Serve as a float nurse with potential to take on charge duties as needed
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain patient care standards in a Level II Trauma environment
• Ensure meal breaks are taken (30 minutes) to maintain quality care and personal well-being
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Active Alabama RN license required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Fit testing certification required
• Prior Level II Trauma unit experience strongly preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• NIH certification preferred, but not mandatory
• Comfortable with night shift schedule (7 pm to 7 am), working every other weekend
• Able to live or commute up to 60 miles from the location
