
Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Hayden, Idaho in Hayden, ID
Job Description
Experienced Registered Nurse needed to support multiple critical care and specialty units through a dynamic hospital-wide float nursing role. This contract position is based in Hayden, ID, offering the opportunity to utilize your clinical expertise across Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Medical-Surgical (Med Surg), and Behavioral Health service lines, including adult acute, youth acute, and addiction recovery settings.
Responsibilities include delivering attentive, patient-centered care tailored to diverse populations while maintaining flexibility and excellent time management. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless, compassionate, and culturally competent care. Duties range from assisting physicians during exams and procedures to administering medications and educating patients and families on care plans and self-care strategies. The role demands adaptability to various nursing environments and a comprehensive understanding of hospital protocols and nursing standards.
Key qualifications and experience:
• Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program (BSN strongly preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years experience, recent within 2 years, across ER, ICU, PCU, Med Surg, and Behavioral Health/Psych (adult acute, youth acute, addiction recovery) unitsexperience may be concurrent
• Proficient with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation
• Current RN license in Idaho or compact state
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Ability to complete required trainings during orientation, including Restraint-C and MOAB
Schedule and work environment:
• 12-hour shifts covering days (7:00 a.m. 7:30 p.m.) or nights (7:00 p.m. 7:30 a.m.)
• Every other weekend required
• Float assignments given two hours prior to shift start for efficient planning
• Uniform: navy blue scrubs
