A healthcare nursing role is available in a contract position located in Hoonah, Alaska, offering an opportunity to provide comprehensive care to patients across all age groups. This position requires a proactive registered nurse with current Alaska licensure, able to deliver high-quality nursing services in an outpatient clinical setting and occasional urgent or emergent situations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide professional nursing care to patients from infancy through elderly, including after-hours clinic coverage.
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care that addresses physical, emotional, spiritual, and socio-cultural needs.
• Recognize life-threatening situations promptly and coordinate comprehensive patient care to ensure top-quality healthcare delivery.
• Perform patient triage, provide appropriate advice, or refer to appropriate care levels based on established protocols.
• Administer physician-ordered therapeutic measures within nursing scope and department protocols.
• Maintain safe, aseptic environments and oversee medical and nursing supplies, equipment, and laboratory functions including phlebotomy, quality assurance, and lab specimen management.
• Support respiratory therapy procedures such as pulmonary function tests, EKGs, nebulizer treatments, and oxygen therapy.
• Participate in radiology duties including imaging registration, x-ray processing, and documentation.
• Collaborate with case management and referral coordinators to help establish care plans when needed.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Active Alaska RN license at the time of application submission.
• Previous experience with X-ray procedures preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and manage multiple nursing duties efficiently.
• Willingness to participate in weekend, on-call, and secondary coverage rotations.
