Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Jersey City, New Jersey in Jersey City, NJ

A registered nurse with telemetry experience is needed to support patient care in a dynamic hospital setting. This contract assignment offers the opportunity to work primarily with cardiac and complex medical cases, contributing to high-quality patient outcomes. Location: Situated in Jersey City, NJ, the hospital is a hub of specialized medical services. Jersey City offers urban living with convenient access to cultural attractions, diverse dining, and excellent transportation options, including proximity to major metropolitan areas. Schedule/Hours: • Night shifts, 3 days per week • 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) • Every other weekend off Key Responsibilities: • Provide skilled nursing care to telemetry patients with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, stroke, renal failure with fluid overload, and stable non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) • Utilize strong cardiac monitoring skills, including rhythm strip interpretation and timely intervention • Float to medical-surgical units as needed based on demand and skill set • Maintain accurate and timely charting using Allscripts electronic health records • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient care plans are effectively carried out Qualifications and Desired Experience: • Active RN license and a minimum of 2 years’ nursing experience, preferably in telemetry or cardiac care • Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIH stroke scale required • Comfortable managing patient ratios between 1:5 and 1:7 • Previous use of Allscripts charting system preferred • Ability to float to various units as needed • Experience with post-cardiac catheterization and PCI patients is strongly preferred Additional Details: • Scrubs color: Navy Blue • First-time travel nurses and travel pairs are not considered for this assignment This opportunity is a 13-week contract ideal for experienced telemetry nurses who thrive in fast-paced settings and want to utilize their cardiovascular nursing skills.
