Job Description
A nursing professional is needed to provide comprehensive patient care in Kasigluk, AK, through a structured nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves directing and coordinating nursing care following established practice standards and collaborating with healthcare professionals to deliver quality, cost-effective care tailored to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The nurse will serve as a resource person when specialized guidance is required, applying age-specific and culturally sensitive approaches in patient care. Care responsibilities span from neonatal to elderly patients, including post-surgical and behavioral health cases, with ongoing assessment required every 24 hours.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform thorough initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Develop and implement patient care plans.
• Coordinate nursing care and communicate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage post-surgical and behavioral health patient needs.
• Uphold nursing standards in alignment with healthcare protocols.
• Demonstrate cultural competence and age-specific care.
• Provide leadership and support within nursing services.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Completion of an accredited nursing program approved by the NLN.
• Minimum of two years recent experience in Medical/Surgical nursing preferred.
• Valid Registered Nurse license in good standing in the State of Alaska.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Eligibility under designated critical shortage areas, including acceptance of international nurses meeting NCLEX, TOEFL, and Visa Screen requirements.
