Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) | Mc Calla, Alabama in Bessemer, AL

A nursing opportunity is available in Mc Calla, AL, focusing on pulmonary care within a telemetry unit. This contract role involves working in a 36-bed Pulmonary Unit specializing in diagnosing and treating patients with various respiratory disorders. Nurses will manage a 1:6 patient ratio, collaborating closely with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, care management, and pharmacy to provide comprehensive, high-quality care.

Responsibilities include delivering specialized nursing care for patients with lung diseases or injuries, maintaining strong interdisciplinary communication, and demonstrating expertise in respiratory skills supported by a foundation in general medicine. Flexibility to float to other units and hospitals as needed is required.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Associate degree in nursing
• Current Registered Nurse license valid in Alabama or Compact License (Temporary licenses not accepted)
• AHA BLS certification or Red Cross certification
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, with at least 1 year in pulmonary or a related specialty; 18 months of experience may be considered with appropriate licensure
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment

Schedule:
• 36 or 48 hours per week, with holiday shifts as required
• Every other weekend schedule
