Provide skilled nursing care as a Registered Nurse within a dynamic Med-Surg with Telemetry unit in Montpelier, VT. This contract opportunity requires expertise in telemetry monitoring, post-operative care, and managing diverse adult patient populations while collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms; apply and respond appropriately to changes in patient cardiac status.
• Provide nursing care for patients including post-op orthopedic, urology, gastrointestinal, COPD, CHF, diabetic, dementia, and end-of-life populations.
• Perform procedures such as peripheral IV insertion, NG tube placement, and telemetry strip interpretation.
• Collaborate with LPNs, LNAs, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
• Utilize the Epic documentation system and Pyxis medication system with attention to detail and compliance.
• Participate in unit rotations and support shared responsibilities as needed, understanding that floating is infrequent.
• Maintain professionalism in appearance and patient interaction; adhere to unit dress code and safety protocols.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Active RN license with minimum 2 years clinical experience; at least 1 year in Med-Surg Telemetry.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and Telemetry certifications required.
• Proven ability to assess telemetry, interpret rhythms, and take immediate actions when necessary.
• Experience with peripheral IV placement preferred.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability skills.
• Reliable transportation is preferred due to potential off-site housing.
Schedule:
• 12-hour shifts with option to pick up extra 8-hour shifts.
• Every other weekend scheduled with no call requirements; holiday coverage expected.
• Scheduling managed via an online program with advance schedule availability.
