This contract position involves working within a fast-paced 32-bed float pool unit, providing comprehensive nursing care across multiple specialty areas including cardiology, medicine, orthopedics, surgery, neurology, and oncology. Flexibility and adaptability are essential as the role requires floating to various MS units. Key responsibilities include managing patient care with nurse-to-patient ratios typically around 1:6, sometimes up to 1:8 during high-demand periods. The role demands competency in a range of clinical skills and equipment usage, including IV insertion, PICC and central line management, and vascular device care. Additional required skills are traction, CPM devices, epidural and PCA pump management, feeding tube care, and wound vac management. Cardiac skills necessary include remote telemetry monitoring and tele interpretation. Airway management expertise such as CPAP/BiPAP and tracheostomy care is also required.
