An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Intensive Care to provide exceptional patient care in a dynamic critical care environment. This contract position involves working the night shift, delivering care to patients with complex cardiovascular and neurological needs in a well-equipped medical surgical ICU setting. Responsibilities include coordinating and implementing nursing plans, managing patient care in the ICU, and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team. The nurse will float among CTICU, ICU, and progressive units as needed, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness in patient care. Key Qualifications and Experience: • Registered Nurse (RN) with 1+ year of critical care experience • Current ACLS and BLS certifications • Competence with ICU equipment such as Alaris pumps, Prismaflex CRRT machines, IABP Abbott devices, and familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records system • Experience caring for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, those with neuro-ventricular drains, patients requiring CRRT, and those with sepsis or high oxygen demands • Ability to function as a team player with a strong work ethic and adaptability to shifting unit needs Schedule: • Night shift, 7:00 pm to 7:00 am • Approximately 36 guaranteed hours per week with the option to increase to 48 hours • Rotating every other weekend coverage with standard holiday work expectations • No call requirements Benefits and Perks: • Healthcare benefits offered • Time off flexibility with up to 5 days approved per 13-week contract • Supportive professional environment with advanced medical technology and resources Location Overview: Set in the heart of Southeast Missouri, Charleston offers a welcoming community atmosphere with access to both urban amenities and outdoor recreation.
