Provide essential nursing care as a Float Med-Surg/ED RN at a critical access hospital serving the North Kohala community on the Big Island of Hawaii. This contract position offers the opportunity to work 12-hour shifts covering both day and night schedules, including weekends and holidays, providing flexibility and variety in your work routine. Strong experience with EPIC electronic health records is essential to succeed in this role. Location: Kamuela, HI Kamuela, also known as Waimea, is a charming town on the Big Island renowned for its paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) culture, lush ranchlands, and scenic views. The area offers a unique blend of rural tranquility and access to outdoor activities like hiking and horseback riding, all under Hawaiis bright, sunny skies. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver high-quality nursing care across Medical-Surgical and Emergency Department units, adapting to the shifting needs of the hospital population • Utilize strong critical thinking and clinical skills to manage patient care in a fast-paced environment • Document patient information accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic health records • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care • Respond promptly to emergencies and assist in stabilizing patients as needed Qualifications and Experience: • Current RN license with medical-surgical and emergency nursing experience • Proven proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system • Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays • Strong communication and teamwork skills, adaptable to various clinical settings within the hospital This contract role offers the chance to impact a rural Hawaiian communitys healthcare while gaining diverse nursing experience.
