Job Description
A registered nurse with medical-surgical expertise is needed for a rewarding contract position in Oconto, Wisconsin. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of two years nursing experience, preferably in medical-surgical settings
• Competency in telemetry nursing
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Experience with electronic charting systems (EPIC preferred)
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities:
• Deliver patient-centered care on a medical-surgical unit with telemetry monitoring
• Collaborate effectively with charge nurses, LPNs, hospitalists, and support staff
• Manage patient assessments, medication administration, and treatments according to protocol
• Utilize EPIC for accurate and timely charting and documentation
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection control protocols, including proper use of PPE
Additional Details:
• Patient ratios generally range from 1:4-5 during days and 1:5-6 at night, depending on acuity
• Access to centralized telemetry monitoring and 24/7 respiratory therapy and hospitalist coverage
• Support available from LPNs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, and reception staff during day shifts
• Orientation includes at least one shift to familiarize with workflow
• Scrub color is flexible; free parking available
