Job Description
This contract nursing position offers the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic Nursing Resource Team providing hospital-wide float nursing care across multiple critical departments, including Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical, and Behavioral Health (adult acute, youth acute, addiction recovery). The role requires adaptability, strong clinical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care using the nursing process in various hospital units, promoting patient safety and well-being.
• Float to different departments such as ER, ICU, Med-Surg, PCU, and Behavioral Health, efficiently managing time and priorities.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests within nursing scope of practice.
• Establish patient care goals and educate patients and families on conditions and self-care.
• Utilize clinical evidence and technology to enhance patient outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with care standards and participate in unit-specific training.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program; BSN highly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years recent experience in ER, ICU, PCU, Medical-Surgical, and Behavioral Health/Psych settings (experience can be concurrent).
• Proficient in cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation.
• Current State of Idaho (or compact) RN license.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; Restraint C and MOAB training provided during orientation.
• Ability and willingness to float across clinical units, including behavioral health and critical care environments.
Schedule:
• 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM7:30 PM or 7:00 PM7:30 AM).
• Every other weekend required.
• Flexible floating assignments with advance notification.
