Job Description
A Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse position is available on a contract basis, offering a unique opportunity to work night shifts in a rural setting. This role supports direct and indirect patient care across a wide age rangefrom neonates to geriatric patientswithin a versatile medical-surgical department. Experience a broad spectrum of patient care, including medical, surgical, high acuity, rehabilitative, skilled, and pediatric services, with opportunities to cross-train in post-partum care, infusion, wound therapies, Emergency Department, and PACU.

Situated in Thompson, Utah, this position provides access to the stunning natural beauty of the surrounding region. Thompson and its nearby areas offer exceptional outdoor recreation year-round, including hiking, biking, and exploring nearby national parks. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
• Current, unencumbered RN license in Utah or compact state
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• 1-2 years medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certification or ability to obtain within one year
• Willingness to earn NRP certification within one year
• Knowledge of infection control, patient safety, and medication management
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Professional handling of confidential information
• Emotional maturity and ability to manage stressful situations
• Dependability and flexibility in scheduling
Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care across medical and surgical patient populations
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes promptly
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Participate in cross-training and expand skill sets as opportunities arise
Schedule:
• Night shifts, typically 7 days on/7 days off
• 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
