Responsibilities
• Continuously monitor patients’ cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment, promptly identifying abnormal patterns or changes that require intervention.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories, conducting physical examinations, and evaluating physiological responses to treatment.
• Administer medications and treatments such as IV infusions, injections, and medications for pain management or infection control, following strict aseptic techniques.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, respiratory therapists, and case managers—to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with patient needs.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
• Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, imaging procedures (e.g., CT scans), and catheterizations (including cardiac catheterization).
• Provide patient education on health coaching topics like medication adherence, nutrition, wound care (including ostomy care), and discharge planning to promote recovery and long-term wellness.
• Respond swiftly to emergency situations such as acute pain episodes or airway compromise by utilizing advanced skills in airway management, ventilator support, and basic life support protocols.
• Support patients across various settings—including hospital units like ICU or trauma centers, outpatient clinics, home care environments, assisted living facilities, or long-term care facilities—adapting care strategies accordingly.
• Engage in ongoing professional development by staying current with industry standards such as NCQA standards or ICD coding updates (ICD-10/ICD-9), enhancing your expertise in trauma medicine, infectious disease care, geriatrics, behavioral health, or pediatric nursing.
Requirements
• Valid nursing license (RN) in good standing with current state licensure requirements.
• Looking for Telemetry nurse, Med/Surg nurse, Labor & Delivery nurses , ICU nurses, PCU/Telemetry nurses, and OR Surgery nurses.
• Day & Night Shift
• Proven experience in telemetry nursing within acute care environments such as ICU, emergency room (ER), Level I or Level II trauma centers.
• Must have at least 2 years of experience.
• Must have a nursing degree through an accredited degree that must be through the ACEN or CCNE to be considered.
• Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation.
• Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy pertinent to cardiac monitoring and patient assessment.
• Skilled in administering injections, IV insertions/infusion therapy, venipuncture, catheter care—including urinary and central lines—and aseptic techniques.
• Experience managing complex patient cases involving trauma medicine, post-operative recovery (including ostomy or gastric lavage procedures), hospice & palliative medicine, or long-term chronic conditions like dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
• Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations such as sonography or laboratory specimen processing when required.
• Excellent communication skills for triage assessments and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams working with people with disabilities or developmental challenges.
• Physical ability to perform essential duties, including standing for extended periods, lifting patients using Hoyer lifts if necessary, and responding swiftly during emergencies.
• Knowledge of infection control practices aligned with hospital standards to ensure patient safety at all times.
