Job Description
This opening full-time contract opportunity for a Registered Nurse with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience is based in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. The role involves working three 12-hour shifts, averaging five weekend shifts every six weeks, with voluntary on-call and holiday coverage as needed. Candidates should have at least one year of professional nursing experience and hold an active RN license.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including physical, psychological, social, cultural, and developmental needs.
• Review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory results, promptly reporting abnormalities to physicians and care teams.
• Develop and implement individualized care and discharge plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team and family members.
• Reassess patient conditions regularly in accordance with policy and needs.
• Provide nursing care tailored to the unique needs of neonatal patients and their families.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum one year of professional nursing experience, preferably in NICU
• Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare team members
• Strong assessment, planning, and communication skills
