Role Overview
We are looking for a highly-skilled and compassionate RN to provide top-notch care in our Level III NICU. In this role, you will be essential in caring for critically ill newborns who need specialized medical attention. Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver patient-centered care to premature infants and those with serious health issues requiring close monitoring and potential surgical interventions.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, maternal-fetal specialists, pediatric surgeons, and lactation consultants, to administer medications, conduct tests, and monitor vital signs.
• Utilize computerized documentation systems to monitor, document, and communicate patient conditions effectively.
• Educate caregivers on discharge planning and instructions when infants are ready to go home.
• Maintain cultural awareness and uphold professionalism in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
Qualifications:
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Multistate Compact License.
• At least 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Minimum of 1 year of NICU nursing experience required; 3+ years preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification must be obtained within the first year of employment.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification is preferred.
