About This Role:

Unit Overview

The Neonatal ICU at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is an award-winning unit that provides exceptional nursing care for critically ill infants in our 36-bed facility. As one of the few Level IV NICUs, we handle a range of complex conditions, including:
• Respiratory Distress Syndrome
• Extreme Prematurity
• Neonatal Encephalopathy
• Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension
• Sepsis/Septic Shock
• Neurological Disorders
• Genetic and/or Metabolic Disorders
• Gastrointestinal Disorders
• Surgical needs

This NICU offers unparalleled opportunities for nurses to engage in high-risk deliveries, gain ECMO technical skills, and participate in both ground and flight transports.

• Total Body Therapeutic Hypothermia
• Bedside Patent Ductus Arteriosus Ligation

Our NICU nursing staff is highly involved, with many participating in Shared Governance and our Clinical Advancement Program. Key committees include:

Scheduling Options

We offer a variety of scheduling options, including Full-Time Rotating Shifts, Full-Time Fixed Night Shifts, and PRN opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will deliver skilled and compassionate care to a diverse patient population, addressing both routine and complex health needs. Your responsibilities will include:
• Assessing evolving patient conditions.
• Identifying health concerns and developing appropriate care plans.
• Implementing interventions directly or coordinating with the nursing team.

Qualifications
• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Minimum of one year of hospital-based NICU RN experience required.
• Active RN License and Basic Life Support certification required.

This position offers a competitive pay range of USD $41.77 - USD $63.66 per hour.
