Job Description

Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse performs responsibilities that are supportive and/or restorative under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. Provides nursing care to an assigned group of patients, and administers medications and/or treatments upon demonstration of ability in accordance with policy of the Hospital. Responsibilities Provides direct patient care: Performs tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Registered Nurse as related to: Hygiene and physical comfort Medical treatments and selected nursing interventions Nutritional needs Ambulation and exercise Elimination Patient safety Administraters medication as assigned Performs CPR Takes vitals Transports patients Prepares patients for tests and procedures Qualifications Education:Graduate of accredited nursing program(s).Experience:Demonstrates competence and experience in nursing within the limits of preparation and legal scope of practice.Licenses, Certifications:Licensed and currently registered as a Practical Nurse in NYS.Physical Requirements:Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day. Position will be required to stoops, bends, lifts, carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
