
NICU Registered Nurse - Middleton, WI in Madison, WI
Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide specialized nursing care for critically ill newborns and infants in a nationally recognized Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This contract role offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art pediatric medical and surgical center dedicated to patient- and family-centered care. The position involves 12-hour evening/night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, Monday through Friday, with 2-3 weekends required every six weeks.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or a compact license valid from your permanent address
• Current BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications through the American Heart Association
• Minimum of two years acute care experience plus at least one full year in a Level IV NICU or one year Level III NICU with post-op, g-tube, trach/vent management, and ventilation experience
• Recent Epic electronic medical record experience preferred (within last 12 months)
• Basic arrhythmia experience with the ability to pass a Telemetry test prior to start
• Permanent residence must be within 50 miles of the workplace
Responsibilities include providing comprehensive nursing care for critically ill infants requiring advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. You will support patients and families throughout their hospital journey in a 26-bed unit designed for optimal healing and comfort.

Schedule:
• Evening/Night shifts, 12 hours: 7:00 pm 7:30 am
• Monday through Friday with scheduled weekends (2-3 per 6 weeks)
This is a contract position, accepting assignments up to 26 weeks, with flexibility and support for travel to the role. Permits are required for on-site parking with alternative transportation options available.
