Hours: 40/week

Shift: Days, with rotating call schedule


JOB DESCRIPTION

The Nurse Analyst (LPN/RN) applies knowledge of nursing and informatics to assist in the maintenance and support of Franklin County Medical Center’s (FCMC) selected Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. They provide education and support to FCMC healthcare professionals and clinical staff. This position is deemed safety-sensitive and will adhere to all policies associated with this designation. The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed.   • Maintain EHRs user accounts and permissions, and ensure permissions are appropriate per user role
  • Build and maintain workflows, templates, schedules, order sets, and any other necessary components for the organization, in the EHR, as determined by physicians, nurses, and staff
  • Develop, present, and deliver training programs and materials to clinical staff for current and new technologies to help with best practices & efficiency
  • Identify problems, bugs, and deficiencies within the EHRs and address these concerns with the EHR vendor as necessary
  • Assist in the evaluation, design, and implementation of EHRs
  • Maintain point-of-care equipment & related contracts as necessary
  • Work as a liaison between FCMC’s clinical and Information Technology (IT) staff 
  • Maintain confidentiality by protecting sensitive, proprietary, or confidential information. Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required to maintain Infection Control Standards as set by the facility
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES

  • Working knowledge of nursing, healthcare safety, state and federal regulations, and regulatory processes

  • Must be able to hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergencies
  • Work independently and be self-motivated


Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

  • Degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the State of Idaho
  • Electronic Medical Record systems experience  
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Regularly required to sit, bend, stoop, and stretch
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment
  • Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports
  • Frequently able to lift/carry up to 50-100 pounds
  • This job's specific visual abilities include reading and interpreting reports and data.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to access and navigate throughout the department within the organization's facilities
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing, accessing necessary information, emailing, and other similar tasks

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • FCMC operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year. The operational needs of departments may require you to be available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of patients.
  • Potential exposure to blood, body tissue, fluids, contagious diseases, and hazardous waste.
  • Occasional exposure to bodily injury, loud/unpleasant noise, unpleasant odor, and emotional or physical stress.  
  • May be required to work day or night in a confined environment or in varying temperatures. 
  • May work within close proximity to moving, mechanical parts, and are exposed to electrical shock some of the time.
  • The employee works in the hospital setting.
  • May be required to travel to other facilities to obtain training/certification as necessary.
