Job Description
Nursing professional development (NPD) is a nursing practice specialty that improves the professional practice and role competence of nurses and other healthcare personnel by facilitating ongoing learning, change, and role competence and growth with the intention of improving population health through indirect care. The role of the NPD practitioner is multi-faceted and includes serving as a change agent, mentor, learning facilitator and partner for practice transitions. Areas of NPD responsibility are: 1) orientation and onboarding; 2) competency management; 3) education; 4) role development; 5) collaborative partnerships; and (6) inquiry.

Required Qualifications:
- Must meet the criteria to sit for the NCLEX examination and become licensed in the state of Texas.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Upon hire: Texas Registered Nurse License.
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
- 3 years related experience.
- 1 year recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- 1 year Clinical experience in area of specialty, if applicable.
- Experience with ANCC Practice Transition Accreditation Program.
- Experience as a nurse planner in an ANCC approved provider unit.
