Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services for patients throughout Hawai'i and the Pacific Region include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency pediatric and adult care, critical care air transport and high-risk perinatal care. The Nursing Education department helps build the team’s expertise in patient care by expanding our nursing employees’ skills through demonstrations, HLC continuing education courses, nursing specialty training academies and other educational offerings. The department plans, designs, implements and evaluates all education activities for nursing staff with the goal of increasing their job performance and skills.

As the Nurse Educator, you will have the opportunity to ensure that our nursing work force has the education and training needed in order to provide outstanding, compassionate care to patients at Kapi‘olani. In this role, you will collaborate with clinical managers to plan, implement and evaluate educational programs for direct care givers in the service line. We are looking for someone dynamic and inspiring, with exceptional organizational and communication skills, a strong understanding of direct patient care principles and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse License. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. Two (2) years recent acute care registered nurse experience in related specialty. Valid driver's license and abstract. Current Hawai’i auto insurance.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing or related field. Current national certification in area of specialty. Nursing preceptor experience.
