Job Description
A specialized clinical role is available in Juneau, AK, focused on optimizing and supporting Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and other clinical applications within healthcare settings. This contract opportunity centers on training users, managing system configurations, and improving clinical workflows in collaboration with medical and IT teams. The position offers the chance to contribute to enhanced patient care practices in both outpatient and inpatient environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and update clinical applications, ensuring content accuracy including labs, medications, and diagnostic codes.
• Train healthcare personnel using diverse methods such as in-person sessions, remote shadowing, and web conferencing.
• Troubleshoot and escalate user issues, coordinating with subject matter experts for resolution.
• Assess and recommend clinical content and medical decision support enhancements.
• Align clinical workflows across multiple clinic locations.
• Participate in occasional travel (approximately 10%) to consortium sites and professional development events.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Active Registered Nurse license in Alaska or another U.S. state; Alaska licensure must be obtained prior to start for direct hire.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; advanced degrees may offset experience requirements.
• Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in a medical setting.
• At least 2 years working with clinical information systems.
• Experience in inpatient settings, teaching, accreditation processes, and HL7 messaging are preferred.
• Clinical Informatics training and Basic Life Support certification advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
