UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital is seeking an experienced Observation Unit Manager to lead day-to-day operations of our Observation Unit. This leader will focus on exceptional patient care, efficient throughput, staff engagement, and strong clinical outcomes in a fast-paced acute care environment.

What You’ll Do
• Lead clinical and operational performance for the Observation Unit.
• Support safe, high-quality, patient-centered care and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with ED, hospitalists, case management, and bed management to optimize patient flow and observation length of stay.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, onboarding, coaching, and performance improvement.
• Drive quality, patient experience, and throughput initiatives using data and evidence-based practices.
• Support budget oversight, productivity, and resource utilization.

Requirements
• Active RN license
• Bachelor's required
• BLS required (ACLS preferred)
• 3+ years acute care RN experience (ED, Observation, Med-Surg, or similar)
• 2+ years leadership experience (Charge, Assistant Manager, Manager, or equivalent)

Preferred
• Master’s degree
• Observation/ED throughput leadership experience
• Relevant specialty or leadership certification (e.g., CEN, CMSRN, NE-BC)
