Summary Curana Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide primary care rounding services within an inpatient psychiatric facility. In this role, you will focus on the medical needs of patients admitted for behavioral health treatment, ensuring their chronic and acute medical conditions are appropriately managed during their psychiatric stay. This position bridges behavioral health and medical care, supporting whole person treatment while collaborating closely with psychiatrists, nursing staff, and facility leadership. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Medical Rounding and Evaluation Perform comprehensive history and physical exams upon admission and conduct ongoing medical rounding Evaluate and manage acute medical concerns that arise during inpatient psychiatric stays Provide chronic disease management including hypertension, diabetes, COPD, and heart failure Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies as clinically indicated Collaborate with psychiatry regarding medication interactions, medical clearance, and overall patient stability Care Coordination Partner with psychiatrists and behavioral health teams to ensure integrated care planning Communicate medical updates clearly to interdisciplinary team members Facilitate transfers to higher levels of medical care when necessary Support discharge planning from a medical standpoint, including medication reconciliation and follow up recommendations Documentation and Compliance Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the EMR Ensure medical documentation meets regulatory and facility requirements Participate in quality improvement initiatives as applicable What We Offer We know that caring for seniors takes more than just medical expertise—it takes support, tools, and opportunities to grow. Qualifications Valid nurse practitioner or physician assistant license in state of operations & current board certification in your field Masters Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills preferred. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills Must possess traits of punctuality, organizational skills, and ability to function within a team. This role requires travel to and from one or more assigned facilities. Depending on the amount of travel required, Curana may in future determine that a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required. If so, you will be provided with thirty (30) days notice of this requirement.
