JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Nurse functions as a member of the nursing team and provides medical and psychiatric treatment for clients who have various substance use and behavioral health disorders. He / She works under the guidance of the attending Medical Provider(s) and with the support of the Administrative Nurse and Nurse Lead(s). He / She is also a member of the treatment team and provides input into the development of the treatment plan. He / She operates under the guidance of state licensure and in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
JOB DUTIES:
• Completes initial nursing assessment for incoming clients using an Electronic Medical Records system.
• Meets with Administrative Nurse and Nurse Lead on a regular basis in order to address concerns and areas for improvement.
• Obtains the attending medical provider’s orders for admitting clients.
• Ensures that all the attending medical provider’s orders, including lab orders, are carried out.
• Communicates in a timely manner with the attending medical provider regarding clients’ abnormal lab reports.
• Administers medications during scheduled medication pass times.
• Communicates in a timely manner with the attending medical provider regarding clients’ lack of compliance with their medication regimen as well any adverse reactions.
• Documents all services provided and other pertinent information appropriately and in a timely manner using an Electronic Medical Records system.
• Conducts headcount of clients every 2 hours using an Electronic Medical Records system.
• Assesses the changing needs and conditions of clients and communicates them in a timely manner to the attending medical provider.
• Communicates in a timely manner with the attending medical provider regarding any medical emergencies involving clients, including calling emergency medical services (EMS) if it is warranted.
• Performs other clinical nursing activities in a safe, professional manner, maintaining compliance with established nursing care standards.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications, including their purpose, side effects, and contraindications.
• Maintains the Nursing Station and Patient Care Unit by cleaning, sweeping, restocking, unboxing packages, and emptying trash.
• Attends all scheduled meetings.
• Collaborates with staff to provide comprehensive treatment services for clients.
• Communicates effectively with staff, clients and their loved ones, independent contractors, volunteers, vendors, aftercare partners, community partners, and other stakeholders.
• Works in a safety-conscious manner that does not pose a risk to self, to others, or to the workplace.
• Acts decisively and effectively in managing staff, clients, and others during emergency situations.
• Works as a member of the team, demonstrating professionalism, objectivity, and maturity under stress.
• Responds effectively to changing situations in the work setting.
• Continues with education and/or training relative to the position and the needs of the facility.
• Reports abuse of clients’ rights immediately.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• RN required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Prior experience working in a similar role preferred
• Must be able to read and write the English language
• Must be able to work at assigned station and in assigned department
• Must be available to work on-call shifts as needed
• Must have great attendance and be reliable, punctual, and show up for work as scheduled
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN
Pay: $34.00 - $36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 36 per week
