RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversee the daily nursing operations of the unit under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON). • Supervise, delegate, and coordinate care provided by our nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. • Regularly assess residents' physical and emotional well-being through rounds and daily evaluations. • Deliver direct nursing care as necessary, including IV starts and specimen collections. • Facilitate the admission, transfer, and discharge processes, ensuring seamless communication with the care team. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of residents' medical statuses and care interventions. • Engage proactively with residents' families or Power of Attorneys (POAs) and with attending physicians regarding their care. • Ensure completion and timely reporting of assessments and care plans. QUALIFICATIONS: • Valid, unrestricted RN license in Connecticut. • Graduate from an accredited nursing program. • Current CPR/BLS (or equivalent) certification in alignment with facility policy. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with residents, families, and the care team. • Strong organizational and time-management abilities with a compassionate, resident-centered approach. • Prior experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment preferred. • Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.
