Nurse Manager – Operating Room (Organ Transplant Program) 📍 Manhasset, NY 💰 Travel Pay: $3,200–$3,300 per week We are actively seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Operating Room with a strong background in organ transplant services to lead a high-performing surgical team at a leading healthcare facility in Manhasset, New York. This role supports a complex surgical program, including lung and heart transplants, and requires a proven clinical leader with excellent operational and people-management skills. Work Location: Manhasset, NY 11040 Schedule Options • Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM • OR four (4) 10-hour shifts during the week (No weekends required unless operationally necessary) Position Summary The Nurse Manager has 24/7 accountability for the nursing practice and overall patient care delivery within the Operating Room. This role oversees clinical operations, staffing, fiscal management, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance while maintaining a professional and collaborative environment that supports high-quality, patient- and family-centered care. The Nurse Manager serves as a clinical and operational leader, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant care delivery for a high-acuity surgical population, with a strong emphasis on transplant services. Key Responsibilities • Provide 24/7 leadership and accountability for nursing practice and patient care delivery in the Operating Room • Oversee daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and resource utilization • Manage human, fiscal, and material resources to support efficient unit operations • Lead, mentor, and develop nursing and support staff to promote professional growth and retention • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes • Promote a culture of safety, excellence, and patient-centered care • Support and manage organ transplant surgical services, including lung and heart transplants • Monitor performance metrics, quality indicators, and patient satisfaction outcomes • Participate in process improvement initiatives and strategic planning • Perform other related duties as required Required Qualifications • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – required • (Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred) • Degree must be in Nursing • Current and active New York State RN license • 6–8 years of total nursing experience • 2–5 years of leadership or management experience • Organ transplant experience – required • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills • Experience managing high-acuity surgical environments Preferred Qualifications • CNOR certification • Prior leadership experience in a transplant or tertiary-care surgical program Compensation • Travel Pay: $3,200–$3,300 per week • Competitive pay based on experience and bill rate
