Nurse Manager β Operating Room (Organ Transplant Program)

π° Travel Pay: $3,200β$3,300 per week
We are actively seeking an experienced Nurse Manager β Operating Room with a strong background in organ transplant services to lead a high-performing surgical team at a leading healthcare facility in Manhasset, New York. This role supports a complex surgical program, including lung and heart transplants, and requires a proven clinical leader with excellent operational and people-management skills.

Schedule Options
β’ Monday β Friday | 9:00 AM β 5:00 PM
β’ OR four (4) 10-hour shifts during the week
(No weekends required unless operationally necessary)
Position Summary
The Nurse Manager has 24/7 accountability for the nursing practice and overall patient care delivery within the Operating Room. This role oversees clinical operations, staffing, fiscal management, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance while maintaining a professional and collaborative environment that supports high-quality, patient- and family-centered care.
The Nurse Manager serves as a clinical and operational leader, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant care delivery for a high-acuity surgical population, with a strong emphasis on transplant services.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Provide 24/7 leadership and accountability for nursing practice and patient care delivery in the Operating Room
β’ Oversee daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and resource utilization
β’ Manage human, fiscal, and material resources to support efficient unit operations
β’ Lead, mentor, and develop nursing and support staff to promote professional growth and retention
β’ Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards
β’ Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes
β’ Promote a culture of safety, excellence, and patient-centered care
β’ Support and manage organ transplant surgical services, including lung and heart transplants
β’ Monitor performance metrics, quality indicators, and patient satisfaction outcomes
β’ Participate in process improvement initiatives and strategic planning
β’ Perform other related duties as required
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) β required
β’ (Masterβs Degree in Nursing preferred)
β’ Degree must be in Nursing
β’ Current and active New York State RN license
β’ 6β8 years of total nursing experience
β’ 2β5 years of leadership or management experience
β’ Organ transplant experience β required
β’ Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience
β’ Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
β’ Experience managing high-acuity surgical environments
Preferred Qualifications
β’ CNOR certification
β’ Prior leadership experience in a transplant or tertiary-care surgical program

β’ Travel Pay: $3,200β$3,300 per week
β’ Competitive pay based on experience and bill rate
