Responsibilities: • Lead daily nursing operations on the unit under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON). • Supervise, delegate, and coordinate care provided by your nursing team, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. • Conduct regular rounds to assess residents' physical and emotional well-being; monitor and evaluate residents daily. • Deliver direct nursing care as needed; responsibilities include starting IVs, collecting lab specimens, and administering treatments as ordered. • Manage the admission, transfer, and discharge processes, ensuring smooth transitions with the interdisciplinary team. • Maintain accurate and timely documentation regarding residents’ medical status and any changes, including physician orders, lab results, and care interventions. • Communicate proactively with residents' families or Power of Attorneys and with attending physicians to provide status updates and discuss changes in conditions. • Oversee assessments (e.g., MDS) ensuring timely completion of reports and resident care plans. Qualifications: • Valid, unrestricted RN license in Connecticut. • Graduate from an accredited nursing program. • Current CPR/BLS (or equivalent) certification as required by facility policy. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work effectively alongside residents, families, and the healthcare team. • Compassionate, resident-centered approach, supported by excellent organizational and time-management skills. • Experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment is preferred. • Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.
