Job Title: Occupational Health Nurse II (RN)
Location: Kansas City, MO 64114
Duration: 3 Months (Minimum 90 days, with possibility of full-time conversion)
Shift: Monday Friday | 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Job Description : We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse II (Registered Nurse) to support workplace health services, including Drug & Alcohol Testing, DOT medical review, and occupational health documentation review. This role focuses on clinical review, compliance, and coordination with employers, donors, clinics, and medical providers. The assignment is for at least 90 days, with a strong potential to transition into a full-time role based on performance and business needs. Key Responsibilities
Drug & Alcohol Testing Services Provide subject matter expertise in workplace Drug & Alcohol Testing Services Review, interpret, and report drug and alcohol test results in accordance with written SOPs Review donor documentation for accuracy and errors Contact donors by phone to determine if a legitimate medical explanation exists for non-negative lab results Maintain the integrity of the clinical review process Provide feedback to laboratories and collection sites regarding performance or quality concerns Communicate findings and resolutions to clients and tested individuals Occupational Health & DOT Compliance Review physical exam documentation for completeness and accuracy Follow up with medical providers, clinics, employers, and employees/drivers to obtain corrections or additional documentation Review medical documentation to determine DOT compliance and return-to-work eligibility Review DOT driver self-reported medications and determine if a safety-sensitive letter is required Identify changes in medical status related to reported medications Medical Documentation Review Review donor-submitted records, including: Laboratory and ancillary testing results Vaccine and TB testing records OSHA respirator questionnaires Determine whether donors meet client-specific and regulatory requirements Provide timely updates to employers on the status of medical cases under review Quality & Process Improvement Ensure adherence to Abbott Rapid Diagnostics quality policies and procedures Participate in departmental goals, objectives, and process improvement initiatives Perform additional duties as assigned Required Qualifications Associate's Degree in Nursing Active Registered Nurse (RN) license 3 5 years of nursing experience in: Occupational Health or Hospital and/or Outpatient/clinic settings Strong documentation review and communication skills Comfortable with phone-based clinical discussions Preferred Qualifications Call center or phone triage experience Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or Certified Nurse Case Manager (CCM) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
