Overview Riverside Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinic team in Coal City, Illinois. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a clinic setting, supporting both routine and acute care needs. You will collaborate with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and patients to deliver comprehensive care, ensure optimal health outcomes, and enhance the overall patient experience. Essential Duties • Patient Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on individual needs, clinical judgments, and provider orders. Administer medications, treatments, and vaccinations as prescribed. • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive measures. Provide clear instructions on medication usage, self-care practices, and follow-up care. • Clinical Procedures: Perform and assist with various clinical procedures and tests as applicable, including blood draws, wound care, and EKGs. Ensure that all procedures are conducted safely and in accordance with clinic protocols. • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes. Document all patient interactions and clinical activities in electronic health records (EHR) systems. • Coordination of Care: Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and follow-up. Facilitate referrals and communication between patients and other healthcare services as needed. Follow up on lab results, prescription requests, referrals, and patient inquiries, communicating effectively with the healthcare team and ensuring timely responses. • Patient Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring that their needs are met with empathy and professionalism. Provide support and reassurance throughout their care experience. • Infection Control: Adhere to infection control protocols and standards to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff. Follow proper procedures for sterilization and handling of medical equipment. • Inventory Management: Maintain clinical supplies and equipment by ensuring stock levels, expediting orders, and verifying receipt of supplies. • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure clinic compliance with DNV regulations and maintain accurate documentation of all required clinical patient information during the rooming process. • Adhere to AIDET format and standards. Acknowledge and greet all customers timely with a professional and friendly demeanor. Non-essential Duties • Administrative Support: May include assisting with scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and performing other administrative tasks as needed to support clinic operations. • Training and Development: Participate in ongoing professional development and training programs to stay current with best practices and advancements in nursing care. • Community Outreach: Engage in community health initiatives and outreach programs as assigned to promote wellness and preventive care. • Patient Support: Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. Medication Management: Maintain and administer medications accurately, including sample logging in EMR and medication room management, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. • Health Outcomes: Measure health outcomes against patient care goals and standards, making necessary adjustments to care plans to ensure optimal results. Responsibilities Preferred Experience • Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a clinic or outpatient setting. • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is desirable. • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a patient-centered approach to care. • Proficiency in using medical equipment and EHR software. • Compassionate, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of care. Required Licensure/Education • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program. • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Illinois. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. • *New Graduate RNs starting on or after 1/1/25 must earn Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) within 3 years of start date.
