
Oncology Clinical Nurse (RN) - Full-Time in Chimayo, NM
Job Description
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate of an accredited program in Registered Nursing.
Certification/Licenses: Current RN license in New Mexico or a Compact state license. BLS Certification is required within two weeks of your hire date. All other essential certifications must be acquired within six months of employment. Nurses who already possess required certifications at the time of hiring are expected to maintain them without a grace period for renewal.
Skills:
• Current knowledge and skills tailored to the age/type of oncology patients served
• Understanding and sensitivity to patients' rights in delivering care
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, considering the developmental age of patients
Experience:
Nature of Supervision:
- Responsible to: Patient Care Director or Manager
Environment:
• Bloodborne pathogen C (OR, PACU, L&D);
• Bloodborne pathogen B (other Patient Care areas). Exposure to infectious diseases and x-rays may occur.
Work in our clean, well-lit, ventilated, smoke-free environment, while navigating possibly stressful professional relationships. Flexibility is key due to varied working hours that may change unexpectedly and include emergencies.
Physical Requirements: Candidates should be prepared to handle emergency and crisis situations. The role requires prolonged standing and walking, as well as considerable physical effort to assist patients or move equipment and supplies. Applicants must be capable of reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Visual acuity and hearing within normal (or correctable) limits are essential, alongside manual dexterity and fine motor coordination.
