Shift Detail: 36-hour Night shift; Every other weekend, every other holiday.

In our vibrant A2 unit, which consists of 29 beds, our dedicated nursing and healthcare teams prioritize delivering high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population. This includes individuals receiving medical-surgical and inpatient oncology and hematology treatments. Our skilled nurses collaborate closely with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to deliver holistic, patient- and family-centered care. JOB SUMMARY
As an Oncology Nurse, you will demonstrate your clinical expertise by applying the nursing process and cultivating strong relationships with patients. You will assess and identify patient needs, create and implement personalized care plans, and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided.
Qualifications
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of one year of RN experience.
• Current unrestricted Connecticut Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications; Oncology Nurse (ONC) certification preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain department-specific certifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
You should possess a solid understanding of nursing principles and practices, along with excellent reading comprehension and strong communication skills for effectively conveying complex information. Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential for collaboration with departments, employees, physicians, managers, and patients. The role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, adaptability, and strong teamwork capabilities, particularly in high-pressure environments. A commitment to outstanding customer service and basic computer skills for data entry and information retrieval are also important.
