Oncology Registered Nurse - New Orleans, Louisiana in New Orleans, LA

Provide specialized nursing care in a fast-paced oncology setting focused on malignant hematology and bone marrow transplant (BMT) patients. This role supports a dedicated team managing complex procedures such as bone marrow biopsies, central line care, and blood and marrow transplants. Location: New Orleans, LA Schedule: • Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) • Weekend rotations required (may be every other weekend, based on unit needs) • Holiday shifts required • No call responsibilities • Float shifts possible if BMT census changes Core Responsibilities: • Deliver high-quality patient care to those undergoing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and BMT treatments • Manage central lines and assist with bone marrow biopsies and transplants • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with all regulatory standards Qualifications: • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; oncology experience required • Must be Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) chemotherapy/immunotherapy certified • Experience with malignant hematology/BMT strongly preferred; orientation provided if experienced with oncology • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH • Preferred certification: Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) This contract assignment offers the opportunity to work in a renowned hospital environment during a vital period while gaining valuable oncology and BMT experience.
