$27.75 - $46.25
Position Highlights
Join our dedicated team at Avera Cancer Institute, where you will provide essential care to patients across our locations in South Dakota. While your primary role will be in infusion, you will also support clinic operations, requiring travel to the nearest Avera Cancer Institute site from your home. Your schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
What you will do
• Deliver exceptional patient care by assessing physician prescriptions, implementing a comprehensive nursing care plan, and collaborating with the healthcare team.
• Gather medical histories and examine patients to develop individualized nursing care plans and set appropriate care objectives.
• Educate patients and their families on health management, medications, and self-care techniques, ensuring they understand and feel empowered in their care journey.
• Continuously evaluate patient care according to established therapeutic standards and make necessary adjustments to care plans.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment by adhering to infection control protocols, medication administration standards, and legal regulations.
• Document all patient care services accurately in records, ensuring clear communication among the healthcare team.
• Ensure that patient care equipment is functional, stocked with necessary supplies, and maintained as per organizational standards.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice upon hire.
• Certification from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) within one year: ONS Fundamentals Provider Card or ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in oncology nursing is highly desirable.
