A2 is a vibrant 29-bed unit where our skilled nursing team delivers compassionate care to a diverse array of patients, including those undergoing medical-surgical treatments, inpatient oncology, and hematology services. JOB SUMMARY As an Oncology Registered Nurse, you will demonstrate clinical competence by utilizing the nursing process and fostering a synergistic nurse-patient relationship. You’ll be accountable for assessing and identifying patient needs, crafting personalized care plans, and evaluating the effectiveness of the care provided. Qualifications • Graduate of a school of nursing; BSN preferred. • One year of RN experience. • Current, unrestricted State of CT Registered Nurse license. • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required; Oncology Nurse (ONC) certification preferred. • Able to obtain and maintain department-specific certifications. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Essential knowledge of nursing principles and practices. You should possess strong reading and comprehension skills to follow oral and written instructions, and be capable of communicating effectively with various stakeholders, including colleagues, physicians, and patients. You’ll need excellent interpersonal skills to thrive in a collaborative setting, flexibility to handle multiple priorities, and the ability to maintain composure in stressful situations. A commitment to customer service and basic computer skills are required to enter and retrieve data. Additionally, you will need advanced analytical skills to interpret information and make informed decisions in response to evolving circumstances and emergencies, all while maintaining confidentiality.
