Operating Room Perioperative Registered Nurse in Zionsville, IN

PERIOPERATIVE REGISTERED NURSE (OR & PACU) Networks Connect is seeking an experienced Perioperative Registered Nurse, on behalf of our client, to join a high-performing multi-specialty surgical team in Zionsville, Indiana. This role is ideal for a seasoned RN with at least 5 years of Operating Room and/or PACU experience who understands the full surgical continuum from pre-operative preparation to intraoperative circulation and post-anesthesia recovery. Position Overview As a Perioperative RN, you will support patients throughout the surgical experience, ensuring safety, clinical excellence, and compassionate care at every stage. Key Responsibilities • Perform comprehensive pre-operative assessments and patient education • Serve as Circulating RN across multiple surgical specialties • Prepare and maintain a sterile operating environment • Verify correct patient, procedure, and surgical site • Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and respond to changes in condition • Coordinate communication between surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical techs, and PACU staff • Administer and document medications accurately • Maintain strict infection control and aseptic technique • Conduct surgical counts and ensure proper specimen handling PACU and Recovery Responsibilities • Monitor patients immediately following anesthesia • Assess airway, circulation, neurological status, and pain levels • Identify and respond quickly to post-anesthesia complications • Maintain patient normothermia and overall comfort • Provide discharge education and post-operative instructions • Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams for safe discharge planning Qualifications • Active Indiana Registered Nurse license in good standing • Minimum 5 years of Operating Room and/or PACU experience • Multi-specialty surgical experience required • Current BLS certification • ACLS required • PALS required • Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills • Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient transfers Ideal Candidate • Experienced in both circulating and recovery roles • Comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical setting • Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills • Committed to patient safety and high-quality outcomes This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Perioperative RN seeking stability, competitive pay, and the ability to work across the surgical continuum in a collaborative environment.
