Type of Opportunity: Full time FTE: 1 Job Exempt: No Work Shift: Days (United States of America) Responsibilities: • Deliver direct patient care through assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs and responses. • Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to coordinate comprehensive patient care. • Perform clinical assessments as per unit standards and document findings appropriately. • Initiate and document protocols and standards of care effectively. • Administer prescribed medications and treatments following established policies. • Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout the care process. • Evaluate patient progress towards expected outcomes and document evaluations accordingly. • Respond competently in emergency situations, demonstrating quick decision-making skills. • Delegate patient care tasks to team members based on their validated competencies. • Supervise and guide LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel in delivering patient care. • Provide leadership through effective communication and validation of patient care. • Assist in various procedures and treatments as required. • Complete necessary education and competency testing for specific patient populations and procedures. • Demonstrate proficiency in required psychomotor skills. • Assist with the onboarding and orientation of new staff and students. • Maintain professional responsibility for nursing guidelines and policies. • Incorporate the organization's mission into caregiving activities. • Support departmental philosophies and care delivery models. • Take on leadership roles as required, such as relief charge nurse. • Meet professional requirements through in-service training and performance standards. • Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives and maintain positive communication with all team members. • Maintain a reliable attendance record and adhere to safety and equipment policies. Qualifications: • Associate Degree in Nursing • Current State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License • BLS certification is required at the time of hire • ACLS and PALS certifications preferred • Minimum of one (1) year of Operating Room/Circulator experience is highly preferred About Presbyterian Healthcare Services: Presbyterian is dedicated to improving the health of patients and communities we serve.
