Job Overview:

As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in our collaborative, patient-centered care environment. Working under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, you will utilize evidence-based practices aligned with the State Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. Your expertise will be key in developing personalized care plans that cater to the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and their families.

What We Look For:
• Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- One (1) year of nursing experience or successful completion of the Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program
- Current unrestricted RN license for Connecticut and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire
• Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN)
- Two (2) or more years of experience in the operating room
- Certification in your clinical area such as CNOR

• Effective communication skills for interacting with patients and the healthcare team
