Role Overview: • Provide exceptional nursing care while following established policies, procedures, and protocols. • Ensure patient safety during surgeries as an RN Circulator through evidence-based practices. • Support the surgical team to maintain a sterile environment. Your Responsibilities: • Assess patients comprehensively to understand their physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs. • Review surgical charts for documentation accuracy before and after procedures. • Adhere to strict health and safety standards. • Communicate effectively with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure seamless care. • Prepare patients for surgery, addressing concerns and verifying NPO status. • Ready the operating room with necessary supplies and equipment. • Ensure all equipment is functional and troubleshoot as needed. • Maintain a sterilized operating room environment. • Assist in positioning patients and monitor vital signs throughout the procedure. • Follow strict safety protocols. • Collaborate as part of the surgical team, passing instruments and materials to the surgeon. Qualifications: • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Connecticut prior to hire. • Associate nursing degree required; BSN preferred. • Current BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire. • Minimum of 2 years' experience as an Operating Room Nurse; scrub experience is a plus. • Proficient in aseptic and sterile techniques. • Strong understanding of patient safety protocols. • Knowledgeable in surgical procedures. • Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively. • A true team player with outstanding communication skills. • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
